RAFFAELE IORIO

ITALY AND GREECE

Raffaele Iorio was born on August 8, 1974, in Florence, where he currently lives and works.

His non-martial education includes a degree in physiotherapy and an IFOMPT master’s degree in manual therapy.

He began his martial journey at the age of 15, studying Shotokan karate, in which he achieved a first dan black belt. He later practiced other martial arts, particularly Wing Chun and Muay Thai.

Since 2014, he has been studying the System created by Maestro Danilo Rossi Lajolo di Cossano.

He became an instructor in 2017 and, since 2019, holds the master’s diploma from the National Fencing Academy of Naples, passing the exam simultaneously with that of the Académie d’Armes Internationale.

Since 2019, he has been the vice-responsible for Italy and responsible for Greece, where he introduced the Lajolo System in 2018 and continues to teach in Athens and soon in Thessaloniki.

He is also a member of the Schola Lajolo, the inner circle of instructors in the System closest to Maestro Danilo.

He has participated in various short fencing tournaments, often winning or placing at the top, both in individual and team competitions.

He teaches in Italian, English, and Spanish.

The Way of the Blade is a continuous quest, also for self-knowledge. Knowledge that he deepens every day by simply living his life according to his values.

He honors culture, a bearer of freedom. He honors the body, the vessel in which he lives. He honors the heart, which provides the motivation for living.
